Plaza of Dreams
Plaza of Dreams is a participatory performance art piece which examines themes of community care, collective imagining, and the relationship between the individual and the community.
In the Fall of 2020, classmates and friends left me voicemails of their dreams, I turned them into cyanotype prints, and mailed them back as gifts.
Installation prototype: Copies of the cyanotype prints were embroidered with conductive thread and connected to a micro-controller. When touched, the prints would play the audio message of a dream.
In a semester entirely through screens, I am very grateful to have made connections through snail mail, voicemail, and making prints with the sun.
